Updates

Keeping my friends updated on my adventure in publishing and creating an audiobook.

I have good news to report. My books are selling, and my audio studio is almost complete. After the Tears Dry is advertised on Amazon. The single tear no longer bothers the auto computer that makes that determination.

I have to admit Amazon is still a mystery. I have taken four classes in advertising on Amazon, and I still need clarification about algorithms. You have to stay on top of the ads. Marketing takes up the time I want to be writing. I’m trying to consider it a puzzle. This week Undercover has been the best seller out of the three books.

I intend to launch the After the Tears Dry audiobook on its publishing anniversary, July 12. I will have to change the book cover, but I have another one in mind. The cover dimensions are different, and the artist that did the original does not create audiobook covers.

The classes for recording are going well. The cost of equipment is relatively low. Audacity, the software I use, is new, but it’s basically the same as Adobe. After twenty-plus years of working with sound, I was excited to realize how much I remember.

I am nervous about starting, but I keep thinking, why not? I can do this.

My new “Work in Progress: Nobody Wins” is coming along. Eric, the physical therapist and my consultant on this manuscript, is helping so much. His knowledge adds authenticity to my research about partial spinal cord injury recovery.

Audiobooks, updates

I am thrilled that you are putting your work on audio books. That tends to be how I “read” the most.
