A Sad Story #The Addict’s Diary

On YahooNews.com, a daughter shared the story about her dad, who had suffered from Substance Abuse Disorder (SAD) for eight years. She writes he taught her all she knew, and she considered him her best friend. According to Josh Dutton and The Addict’s Diary Facebook account, he died four months ago (February 15, 2021). He hid his addiction from her until the last few months of his life.

During those eight years, he woke up at 4:30 AM and worked out before work. So who would suspect someone fit and working every day was struggling with SAD?

This man had been sober for three weeks before he relapsed again. Medical people brought him back three times after he overdosed, but the lack of oxygen caused him to be brain dead.

His addiction didn’t define him anymore than any other serious disease defines a person. His daughter is asking for more public attention, and I am very happy to oblige her.
